Overview and buyer-fit guidance
The XND-8080RG is most useful when a project needs more framing control than a basic fixed-lens dome but does not require a large outdoor vandal housing or a pan-tilt-zoom mechanism. The varifocal lens allows the installer to start with a wider scene and tighten the framing around entrances, transaction areas, corridors, lobbies, reception zones, indoor loading interfaces, lift lobbies, equipment rooms or selected warehouse aisles. This makes the camera a practical choice where the final mounting height or exact field of view cannot be confirmed from a catalogue alone.
For Dubai projects, the main buying question should not be whether 5MP is simply “better” than 2MP or 4MP. The more important question is whether the pixel density, lens position, lighting, target distance, mounting angle and recording settings will capture the evidence your site requires. A 5MP image can provide useful extra detail, but a poorly positioned camera can still miss faces, transaction detail or event context. FourTeck can help translate the camera specifications into a practical coverage plan before quantity and recorder storage are finalised.
The XND-8080RG also suits network-oriented installations where PoE switching, VLANs, recorder bandwidth, user permissions and edge storage are part of the design. H.265 compression and Hanwha WiseStream II can help manage bandwidth and storage, though actual savings depend on scene activity, bitrate settings and image-quality targets. Dual microSD slots provide local storage options for supported workflows, but they should not automatically be treated as a replacement for a properly sized NVR where central recording, retention and operational playback are required.
Key features and business benefits
5MP video detail
Provides more image information than conventional Full HD, supporting closer review of people, objects and activity when the camera is correctly positioned.

Note: the RG suffix is documented by Hanwha as the TTA-market version of the XND-8080R family. Procurement teams should confirm region-specific certification, firmware and packaging requirements before ordering for a UAE project.
Compatibility, configuration and deployment guidance
Plan the XND-8080RG as part of the complete surveillance system rather than as an isolated camera. Confirm NVR or VMS compatibility, supported stream count, recording resolution, expected frame rate, codec, storage retention, user access, event recording and export requirements. ONVIF support can help third-party integration, but ONVIF compatibility does not guarantee that every vendor-specific analytic or event function will be available on every third-party recorder. For advanced functions, verify the exact recorder or VMS integration before the purchase order.
For PoE installation, include camera power consumption in the switch budget and leave design margin for the complete switch. Long cable runs, patch panels, surge exposure and rack temperature can affect reliability. In a business network, cameras should generally be placed on a controlled surveillance VLAN or other appropriately segmented network, with strong credentials and restricted administrative access. Firmware should be checked against the deployment policy before commissioning.
The varifocal lens gives installers flexibility, but the wide end and tele end serve different purposes. A wide view can preserve context across a reception area, lobby or corridor intersection, while a narrower view can place more pixels on an entrance, doorway or target zone. Final lens adjustment should be based on the required evidence, not on filling the screen. Night testing is equally important because IR reflections from glossy walls, glass, nearby surfaces or light-coloured ceilings can reduce useful contrast.
Licensing depends on the recorder or VMS environment rather than the camera alone. If the project uses a third-party VMS, confirm whether a channel licence, analytic licence or device-specific integration is required. If edge storage is used, select surveillance-suitable cards and define how recordings are monitored, retrieved and replaced over time.
Ideal customers and use cases
Reception, corridors, lift lobbies, controlled entrances and shared internal spaces.
Entrances, checkout approaches, stock-room access and selected customer areas.
Indoor circulation routes, service corridors, back-of-house access and lobby support coverage.
Indoor common areas, hallways and controlled entry zones subject to site policy and privacy rules.
Non-clinical public and operational spaces where surveillance is permitted and privacy is respected.
Indoor aisles, dispatch interfaces, stock access points and equipment rooms.

- Indoor mounting position, target distance and required field of view.
- Required evidence level: overview, detection, recognition or identification.
- NVR or VMS brand, model and firmware compatibility.
- Recording resolution, frame rate, bitrate and retention days.
- PoE switch capacity, network segmentation and cabling route.
- Low-light conditions and possible IR reflection sources.
- MicroSD requirement and supported retention workflow.
- Needed analytics and whether the recorder/VMS receives those events.
- Mounting accessories, junction boxes or ceiling conditions.
- Local compliance, privacy and project documentation requirements.
Comparison and related-model guidance
Choose the XND-8080RG when you need a 5MP indoor dome with motorized varifocal framing and integrated IR. If the project needs a lower-resolution camera with a broader 2.8–12mm lens range and up to 60fps, the XND-6080R family can be worth comparing. If the camera will be exposed to outdoor weather or needs a stronger vandal/weather housing, compare the XNV-8080R family rather than assuming an indoor dome can be used outside. For open yards, perimeter routes or long wall lines, a bullet camera may offer easier aiming and a housing better suited to exterior deployment.
Model selection should be driven by the scene and required result. A camera with more megapixels is not automatically the better choice if the lens, low-light behaviour, housing, mounting position or recorder design does not match the project. FourTeck can help prepare a camera schedule that mixes dome, bullet, PTZ and speciality cameras where each type performs the job it is best suited for.
Hanwha XND-8080RG Dubai
Dubai buyers looking for the Hanwha XND-8080RG are usually solving a project requirement rather than buying a camera in isolation. Commercial properties in Business Bay, DIFC-area offices, Deira trading locations, Dubai Marina hospitality sites, Al Quoz facilities, Jebel Ali warehouses and mixed-use buildings all create different surveillance challenges. An office may need controlled views of reception areas and corridors, while a warehouse may need stronger coverage of dispatch doors and inventory routes. The same camera can perform differently in each environment because mounting height, target distance, lighting and the surrounding network determine the result.
For Dubai indoor deployments, the XND-8080RG’s motorized varifocal lens is particularly useful when a ceiling position must serve a defined doorway or zone. The installer can adjust framing between approximately 92° and 39° horizontally on the matching XND-8080R platform, allowing a broad contextual view or tighter concentration on a target. This is more useful than simply quoting 5MP resolution because the lens determines how those pixels are distributed across the scene. Before ordering, share a floor plan, sample camera locations or target distances so the design can be reviewed against the intended identification requirement.
Dubai sites can also have demanding lighting transitions, including bright glazing near entrances, reflective polished surfaces, dark corridors and mixed artificial light. A surveillance design should therefore evaluate real daytime and night-time conditions. Built-in IR can help when visible light is limited, but reflective surfaces close to the camera can cause hotspots or reduced contrast. The final commissioning process should include live focus, exposure, WDR, IR and playback tests at the expected operating times.
Procurement teams frequently ask for “XND-8080RG price Dubai,” “Hanwha 5MP dome camera supplier Dubai,” “Hanwha XND-8080RG quote” and “Hanwha camera installation Dubai.” Rather than publishing a fixed price that may become inaccurate, FourTeck can prepare a quotation according to the camera quantity, recorder or VMS, storage, PoE switching, cabling, mounting accessories and installation scope. Availability and region-specific model details should be confirmed at the time of enquiry.
For deployment assistance, FourTeck can connect camera selection with the rest of the project, including network switching, structured cabling, NVR storage and access control. Visit the Dubai CCTV installation guidance page or FourTeck UAE to discuss the wider project. This coordinated approach helps avoid common problems such as insufficient PoE capacity, weak recorder storage, poor camera angles and fragmented support responsibility.
Hanwha XND-8080RG UAE
Across the UAE, a Hanwha XND-8080RG requirement can come from a single branch, a multi-emirate organisation, a consultant-led security project or an upgrade of an existing IP surveillance network. The planning challenge is broader than in a single Dubai site because branch standards, recorder platforms, network policies, camera naming and remote access may need to remain consistent across Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Al Ain. Standardising a camera family can simplify maintenance, but only if the selected model fits the physical conditions at each location.
The XND-8080RG is best treated as an indoor dome. Where a UAE project includes exterior entrances, exposed parking areas, dusty yards or locations subject to weather, use an appropriately rated outdoor camera rather than extending this indoor model beyond its intended environment. The XNV or XNO families may be better candidates depending on the required housing and lens. Separating indoor and outdoor camera schedules also makes procurement clearer and helps installers apply the right mounting hardware and cable protection.
UAE IT teams should evaluate how CCTV traffic will share the business network. Multiple 5MP streams can create substantial bandwidth and storage demand if they are configured at high bitrate, continuous recording and maximum frame rate. H.265 and WiseStream II can help reduce load, but the design still needs a storage calculation based on camera count, scene complexity, retention days and recording mode. Where cameras are distributed across branches, remote viewing and central management should be planned with WAN performance and cybersecurity in mind.
When comparing quotes, request the full scope rather than only the camera unit cost. Confirm whether the proposal includes mounting accessories, PoE ports, recorder licences, hard disks, rack work, cabling, testing and handover. This makes it easier to compare equivalent solutions and avoids surprise costs during implementation. The FourTeck CCTV and access control systems UAE page provides additional project context, while FourTeck can support wider infrastructure enquiries.
For regulated or consultant-designed projects, confirm the exact required certification and model suffix before purchase. Hanwha documents the XND-8080RG as a TTA variant in its Korean lineup. A UAE tender may instead specify an XND-8080R-family model by a different regional code. FourTeck can help verify the requested configuration so the supplied model aligns with the bill of quantities and project acceptance criteria.
Hanwha XND-8080RG Kenya
Kenya buyers considering the Hanwha XND-8080RG often need professional surveillance for offices, financial operations, hospitality, education, logistics, retail or institutional facilities. In Nairobi and other commercial centres, network-camera projects increasingly depend on reliable switching, remote access and storage planning as much as on camera resolution. The XND-8080RG fits indoor locations where a dome form factor, adjustable lens and 5MP image detail are appropriate.
A common procurement mistake is to estimate camera quantity from room count rather than from required coverage. A wide office floor may need several viewing directions, while a narrow corridor can often be covered by carefully placed cameras. The XND-8080RG’s varifocal lens can help refine those scenes, but the project still needs target-distance planning. If facial identification at an entrance is important, dedicate a camera to that target rather than expecting a very wide overview camera to provide the same result everywhere in the image.
Kenya projects may also operate across branches with different internet quality. In those situations, local NVR recording is normally more dependable than relying only on continuous remote transmission. Edge microSD can provide a complementary recording method, subject to the chosen workflow, but retention, health monitoring and replacement procedures must be defined. For remote management, limit access to authorised users and use secure network architecture rather than exposing cameras directly to the internet.
When requesting a Kenya quote, include camera quantity, floor plans if available, NVR or VMS preference, required recording days, viewing locations and whether the cameras are replacements for an existing system. Existing PoE switches may be reusable if they have sufficient power, throughput and port capacity, but this should be verified rather than assumed. For branch projects, a common naming and IP-addressing standard can make support significantly easier after deployment.
FourTeck can support Kenya enquiries through FourTeck Kenya. Buyers can request guidance on Hanwha camera selection, recorder compatibility, PoE switching, storage sizing and deployment scope. Availability, local import requirements and the exact regional product code should be confirmed before finalising the order.
Hanwha XND-8080RG Kuwait
In Kuwait, the XND-8080RG can suit indoor commercial surveillance where a professional dome camera needs flexible framing and reliable IP integration. Typical projects include offices, retail, hospitality, financial service locations, healthcare administration areas and indoor industrial spaces. Because the model is an indoor dome, it should not be selected for exposed exterior locations without checking environmental requirements. Exterior Kuwait sites can involve intense heat, dust and direct sun, making weather-rated cameras and appropriate housings essential.
Indoor environments still require careful thermal and network planning. Ceiling voids, communications rooms and PoE switches can operate at higher temperatures than the occupied space, especially when racks are poorly ventilated. The camera’s operating specification should be respected, and switch loading should be checked under realistic conditions. If several 5MP cameras share a PoE switch, calculate the total power draw, uplink capacity and recorder traffic rather than sizing only by port count.
Kuwait buyers frequently compare cameras by night-vision distance, but indoor IR performance depends heavily on the scene. A nominal IR range is not a guarantee of identification quality at that distance. Walls, glossy finishes and objects close to the lens can reflect IR, while large open areas may need supplementary lighting or different camera placement. A commissioning test after installation is the best way to validate focus, exposure and useful night detail.
For procurement, define whether the camera will connect to a Hanwha recorder, a third-party NVR or an enterprise VMS. ONVIF offers interoperability, but vendor-specific analytics and event handling can vary. If features such as virtual line, intrusion, sound classification or digital auto tracking are important, verify how they appear in the actual recording platform before standardising the model across a project.
Kuwait organisations can contact FourTeck Kuwait for project-based guidance. Share the site type, camera schedule, required retention, network readiness and tender requirements so the proposed solution can be aligned with the operational need rather than based only on a unit-price request.
Hanwha XND-8080RG Ghana
Ghana organisations planning CCTV for offices, retail, logistics, education, hospitality and institutional buildings can use the XND-8080RG where indoor dome coverage and varifocal adjustment are important. In Accra and other growing commercial centres, network surveillance often shares infrastructure with normal IT services, so camera selection should be coordinated with switching, cabling and storage rather than handled as a separate purchase.
The model’s 5MP image can support detailed review, but the final evidence depends on scene design. For example, a reception overview camera may capture useful context across a broad lobby, while a separate entrance-focused camera can deliver better facial detail. The XND-8080RG’s 3.9–9.4mm lens makes it possible to adjust framing after installation, giving the integrator more flexibility than a fixed-lens model. That flexibility is particularly valuable in refurbishment projects where ceiling positions are constrained by existing cabling.
Power quality and continuity should be part of Ghana CCTV planning. PoE centralises camera power at the network switch, which simplifies UPS protection because cameras can remain powered if the PoE switch and recorder are backed up. The required UPS runtime depends on camera count, switch load, recorder consumption and the organisation’s continuity objective. A stable rack, labelled patching and documented IP plan also make future maintenance easier.
Storage must be calculated rather than guessed. Five-megapixel cameras can create significant recording volume, and retention requirements vary widely. H.265 and WiseStream II can improve efficiency, but busy scenes such as lobbies, retail floors or loading points often generate more data than quiet corridors. Share the number of cameras, preferred frame rate, continuous or event recording mode and target days of retention so the hard-disk requirement can be estimated realistically.
For Ghana enquiries, visit FourTeck Ghana. FourTeck can help compare Hanwha dome, bullet and recorder options, review PoE and storage requirements, and prepare a project scope based on the site. Current availability and regional model suitability should be confirmed at the time of quotation.
Hanwha XND-8080RG Uganda
Uganda businesses looking at the Hanwha XND-8080RG typically need a dependable indoor network camera for offices, hotels, retail outlets, schools, warehouses or multi-branch operations. The dome format is discreet for ceilings, while the motorized varifocal lens supports more deliberate framing than a fixed-lens camera. This makes the model useful for entrance approaches, corridors, service areas, reception spaces and controlled internal zones where a specific field of view must be achieved.
For Kampala projects, it is useful to decide early whether recording will be centralised on an NVR, managed through a VMS or distributed across multiple sites. If the organisation has branches with variable connectivity, local recording at each site can reduce dependence on WAN links while still allowing authorised remote viewing. Edge storage on the camera can complement that architecture, but it needs its own health-monitoring and retention policy.
Network segmentation is also important. Cameras should not simply be connected to any available office switch port without considering VLANs, user access and recorder traffic. A dedicated surveillance network or appropriately segmented design can simplify troubleshooting and improve security. Strong passwords, controlled administrator accounts and firmware management should be part of commissioning. Where third-party recorders are used, verify ONVIF functionality and test the specific events that the operations team expects to use.
Uganda project buyers should also separate indoor and outdoor camera requirements. The XND-8080RG is intended for indoor use; outdoor gates, perimeter walls, exposed loading areas and car parks may require weather-rated Hanwha bullet or vandal dome models. Mixing suitable camera types within one project generally produces better coverage than forcing one model into every location.
FourTeck supports Uganda project enquiries through FourTeck Uganda. Provide the site layout, camera count, recording days, existing network details and preferred monitoring method for a more accurate solution. The team can assist with model selection, storage, PoE switching and regional procurement checks.
Hanwha XND-8080RG Nigeria
Nigeria surveillance projects can range from a small office installation to large multi-site estates, logistics operations, hospitality groups and enterprise campuses. The Hanwha XND-8080RG is a candidate for indoor areas where 5MP video, IR support and adjustable varifocal framing are required. Lagos offices, Abuja corporate facilities and branch environments can benefit from a standardised indoor dome when the camera is matched to the actual coverage requirement.
One of the most important design questions is recording resilience. Where power interruptions are possible, protect the NVR, PoE switch and network core with an appropriately sized UPS or backup-power design. Because PoE carries power and data on the same structured cabling, keeping the switch powered can keep multiple cameras online. Backup duration should be calculated from the complete load rather than from recorder power alone.
For distributed businesses, remote access should be designed securely. Avoid exposing device interfaces directly to the public internet. Use the supported recorder or VMS architecture, controlled user accounts and network security appropriate to the organisation. Where headquarters needs visibility across many branches, define naming conventions, time synchronisation and user roles before commissioning so operators can quickly identify the correct camera during an incident.
The XND-8080RG’s 5MP resolution is useful, but bandwidth and storage scale with quantity. Large Nigeria deployments should calculate recorder throughput, hard-disk capacity and switch uplinks early in the design. H.265 and WiseStream II can improve efficiency, but final storage depends on scene activity and configured quality. Busy retail floors or logistics areas will often need more storage than quiet internal spaces at otherwise similar settings.
For Nigeria buying support, visit FourTeck Nigeria. Share the expected quantity, city, indoor and outdoor split, retention days and existing recorder/VMS if applicable. FourTeck can help prepare a suitable camera and infrastructure plan, with availability and the exact regional model code checked before supply.
Hanwha XND-8080RG Seychelles
Seychelles buyers planning CCTV for hotels, resorts, offices, retail, logistics or institutional facilities need to pay close attention to the difference between indoor and outdoor surveillance equipment. The Hanwha XND-8080RG is an indoor dome, making it more appropriate for receptions, corridors, indoor service areas, offices and other protected locations. Exposed coastal environments can introduce salt, humidity and weather conditions that call for purpose-built outdoor-rated cameras instead.
Inside hospitality properties, the XND-8080RG’s varifocal lens can help shape views around lobby entrances, back-of-house circulation, service corridors and controlled access points. Surveillance should always respect guest privacy and local rules. Camera angles should focus on legitimate security needs and avoid private areas. For large resorts, a consistent camera schedule and central monitoring architecture can simplify maintenance across multiple buildings.
Network design is especially important when sites are spread across a property. Confirm structured-cabling distances, fibre uplinks where required, PoE budgets and recorder locations. A camera should not be selected before checking whether the network can support the desired stream quality and whether the recorder has sufficient throughput. H.265 compression can reduce traffic, but the design should retain enough quality for the intended evidence.
Seychelles projects may also need to plan carefully for spare parts, replacement units and remote support because logistics can be less immediate than in larger mainland markets. Standardising on a manageable number of camera families can simplify future procurement, but each outdoor or specialist location still needs the right environmental rating and lens. For this reason, use the XND-8080RG only where its indoor characteristics fit the site.
FourTeck handles Seychelles and wider regional enquiries through FourTeck Africa. Provide the property type, camera quantities, recorder preference, cabling distances and environmental conditions. FourTeck can help prepare a balanced surveillance design and confirm model suitability and procurement details before ordering.

Hanwha XND-8080RG FAQs
What is the Hanwha XND-8080RG?
The XND-8080RG is a Hanwha Vision 5MP infrared network dome camera in the X series. Hanwha documents the RG version as a TTA-market variant related to the XND-8080R platform. It uses a 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor and a 3.9–9.4mm motorized varifocal lens. For UAE projects, confirm the exact regional suffix and certification requirement before ordering.
Is the XND-8080RG suitable for outdoor use?
It is best treated as an indoor dome. If the installation is exposed to rain, dust, direct sun or other outdoor conditions, compare a weather-rated Hanwha vandal dome or bullet model instead. The correct housing should be selected from the environmental conditions, mounting location and required impact protection rather than from resolution alone.
What lens does the XND-8080RG use?
Hanwha lists a 3.9–9.4mm, 2.4x motorized varifocal lens. This allows an installer to adjust from a wider view to a tighter field of view after mounting. On the matching XND-8080R platform, the horizontal angle is approximately 92.1° at the wide end and 38.7° at the tele end.
Does it support PoE?
Yes. The matching XND-8080R platform supports IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE as well as 12VDC power. PoE can simplify installation by carrying network data and power over one Ethernet cable, but the switch must have enough total PoE budget and sufficient uplink capacity for the planned camera count.
How much storage does the camera support?
The matching international platform provides two microSD/SDHC/SDXC slots and lists up to 256GB per slot, for a total of 512GB. Edge storage can be useful for local recording or resilience, but capacity and retention depend on bitrate, frame rate, scene activity and recording mode. NVR storage should be calculated separately.
Can the XND-8080RG work with third-party NVRs?
The matching platform supports ONVIF profiles S, G and T, which can assist interoperability with third-party recording platforms. However, ONVIF support does not mean that every Hanwha-specific analytic, event or configuration function will be available on every NVR. Verify the exact recorder model and required features before deployment.
What is the infrared range?
Hanwha’s matching XND-8080R international platform lists a 30m IR viewable distance. Real usable detail varies with lens angle, subject reflectivity, ambient light and nearby reflective surfaces. IR distance should therefore be treated as a design guide, not as a guaranteed identification distance. Night commissioning is recommended.
Does the camera support video analytics?
The XND-8080R platform supports functions including motion detection, tampering, defocus, fog detection, face detection, virtual areas, virtual lines, sound classification and digital auto tracking. Practical performance depends on scene conditions and configuration. If an analytic event is operationally important, test it with the intended NVR or VMS before standardising the deployment.
What should I send to get a Dubai quote?
Share the required quantity, site type, camera locations or floor plan, indoor/outdoor split, current NVR or VMS if any, required recording days, PoE switch details and expected installation scope. This allows FourTeck to prepare a more useful proposal than a camera-only price and reduces the risk of missing storage, licences, mounts or network requirements.
Is the XND-8080RG the same as the XND-8080R?
Hanwha documentation identifies the XND-8080RG as a TTA variant of the XND-8080R family, and current lineup material shows the same core 5MP sensor class and 3.9–9.4mm lens. Because certification, firmware or packaging can vary by market, procurement teams should confirm the exact suffix required for the project rather than assuming complete regional interchangeability.
